One of the largest dogs in the world is the Mastiff, a huge breed that dates back thousands of years. Originally used as war dogs, big game hunters, and watchdogs, these dogs are muscular, patient, and loyal.

Mastiffs can be well over 30 inches tall and can weigh an impressive 230 pounds. They have short double coats, broad heads, and wrinkled foreheads and are generally good-natured and protective.
