The Whippet is a sweet pooch who has recently won the American Kennel Club’s ‘Best in Show’ 2018 award. Looking at doggy history, when this happens, you usually see an increase in popularity. Which also means a lot more mixed breeds.
The Whippet is described as affectionate, playful, and calm. Because he is so gentle, he tends to add a softer side to most of his mixed puppies. He is also a sighthound traditionally used for racing, so you might not want to let any of these mixes off-leash.
Whippets typically measure between 18 to 22 inches tall, and they weigh 25 to 40 pounds, so he is a small to medium-sized pooch. Thankfully when you’re mixing pooches, you have a chance to ‘design’ them. So, if you are after a canine smaller or larger than the Whippet, the world is your oyster.

If you’re looking for a tiny Whippet-lookalike, the Italian Whippet is the way to go. Crossed with the little toy Italian Greyhound, he will only weigh between 15 to 25 pounds, but he has all the same features. He is bouncy, but also a sensitive soul who doesn’t like to be left alone for too long.

3. Whipoodle (Whippet x Poodle)
The Whipoodle is the choice for you if you are seeking a hypoallergenic dog mix. Make sure that you know which size Poodle he is bred with (there are three sizes). His coat will be longer and curlier, which needs daily brushing. This energetic mix needs a lot of physical and mental stimulation to keep him happy, so treat him to a bag of toys.
4. Whipbeagle (Whippet x Beagle)
What do you get when you cross one of the fastest dog breeds with the best doggy nose? The Whipbeagle. 6. Whipgi (Whippet x Corgi)
The Whipgi is much chunkier than the Whippet, and he tends to inherit the larger-than-life Corgi ears and cheeky smile. You’ll have to keep an eye on his herding traits inside the home. But once he learns that he cannot herd the family, he’ll be a loveable pooch who just wants all the attention and belly rubs.
7. Pippet (Whippet x American Pitbull Terrier)
The Pippet looks a lot like the Whippet but one who is packing some serious muscles. This guy is loyal to the end and needs a family that can play and cuddle with him for most of the day. The Frenchwhip is a smaller but chunky guy, with all the rolls you could wish for. He looks a lot like a taller Frenchie, with a longer muzzle. His big bat ears will tower above him, adding to his height. He is a funny pooch who loves to make everyone laugh, and would appreciate a cuddle every evening for being such a good boy.
